Sheikh Salis Shaban Foundation announces 50th Anniversary Celebration of Maulid of Ibrahim Nyass. (zeelense news)

Sheikh Salis Shaban Foundation and Islamic Humanitarian Foundation has announced that the 50th anniversary of the mauled of Shiekh Ibrahim Nyass shall come off on Saturday 23rd April, 2016.
The event which started since 1966 is organized to celebrate the birth of his spiritual eminence, Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass and has been hosted by Sheikh Salis Shaban; a renowned Islamic scholar, a prestige khalifa of baye nyass, and a revered Tijaniya Sufi cleric in Ghana, Togo, and Benin.
The theme for this year’s maulid is “the contribution of the spiritual statesman towards maintaining and sustaining peace and stability in Ghana and Africa as a whole”. The event shall be held at the Kawukudi Park in Accra and is expected to host some dignitaries including the President of Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama and The National Chief Imam, Shiekh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.
Speaking to the executive secretary of the foundation, Mr. Abdulsalam Mohammed Daaru, said that, “the importance of this occasion is to pay tribute to the historic fraternity between Sheikh Ibrahim Niass and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. As well as call for unity among the several tijaniya groups in the country. This is Shiekh Salis Shaban`s dream”.
Shiekh Salis Shaban was the Spiritual Intermediary and executioner of all spiritual necessities and requirements between Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass in connection with the contruction of the akosombo dam.
He added that, Sheikh Ibrahim Niass (1900-1975) played major spiritual role bringing together most celebrated African heads of states, particularly all the north African leaders which included President Gamel Abdul Naser of Egypt, King Iddriss of Libya, President Ben Bella of Algeria, King Hassan of Morocco who all held him in the highest esteem as their respective spiritual guide and consultant, to join the establishment of OAU which has now evolved as African Union (AU).
The event shall be officially launched on Monday, 18th April and is expected to be proceeded by several events including a special YALI learns & second conference of Muslim organizations on climate change. The launching of Barhama Goes Green Campaign that is expected to host about 100 selected imams, chiefs and opinion leaders across West Africa and beyond.
